By the time you read this, there may be a character sheet available. If not, in the meantime, scratch paper will do just fine. Note and track the following:
Threshold: Determines your character’s wound threshold. (2d6+12)
XP Threshold: Determines your character’s starting experience point threshold. (2d6+24)
Backstory: Work with your GM and party to discover the people, places, and things your character comes from. What parts of your past cause you to experience a boon or incur a bane?
Attributes: Use your backstory to assign the core stats to your attribute array.
Points: Have room to note and track drive and special points.
Boosts: Note and track any additional boosts to metal rolls or items.
Hindrances: Note and track anything that hinders your meta rolls or items.
Items: Work with the GM and party members to decide what starting items to carry. Be sure to track item thresholds, number of uses, boost durations, etc.
Skill Sets: Be sure to leave room to note skill set abilities as you gain them.
What is your current occupation?
What do you aspire to be?
What does your average day look like?
Do you have any friends?
Do you have any enemies?
What do people love you for?
What do people hate you for?
What is a defining moment that forever changed your worldview?
The threshold represents how many wounds you can sustain before being incapacitated (Fallen), and also determines how much damage an item can take before it’s rendered useless.
Determine your character’s starting threshold by rolling 2d6 and adding 12.
The threshold maximum can be increased with progress (See Character Progression).
Some equipped or worn items may temporarily increase or lower your threshold.
Unless already detailed, the GM will determine the threshold for NPCs, and the environment.
Unless already detailed, the GM will determine the threshold for found items with help from the quality dice table. A player’s meta roll will determine the quality of a fabricated item.
Characters progress by reaching their experience point threshold.
To determine your base XP threshold, roll 2d6 and add 24.
XP is earned on superb and successful meta rolls, and equals the higher die of the 2d6 rolled. On a successful meta roll where a drive point is spent, the XP earned equals the 2d6 rolled.
Rolling doubles earn an additional 1 XP.
When an XP threshold is reached, 1 progression point is earned and the accumulated XP resets to 0.
The player must then determine the new XP threshold by rolling 4d6 and adding the total to the previous threshold amount.
A Progression point can be spent on one of the following options:
Increase wound threshold by 1d6.
Increase the number of turn actions from 2 to 3 (max).
Increase drive point max by 1 (see Drive).
Increase a skill set capacity by 1 (See Skill Sets and Standard Abilities).
Increase an ability boost by 1. This can be done once.
Increase an item threshold by 1d6
Upgrade an item effect
Increase special points spent per turn by 1
Above board, the GM may reward 1 to 1d6 XP for exceptional player tactics and roleplay.
